Who provides care for GeniusClinic?

Care is provided by licensed healthcare physicians with prescribing privileges and at least 5 years of experience practicing medicine.

Is this a safe way to receive treatment?

Yes. Telemedicine has been proven safe and effective! It’s important that you answer health screening questions truthfully, accurately, and completely to get the best, safest treatment possible. It is also important that you provide your own identifying information and upload pictures of yourself (not anyone else), and that you take those pictures during the online visit. Healthcare providers are only effective when they have accurate, current information about your case—both in telemedicine and in-person visits.

At GeniusClinic, we are partnering with you for your best health.

Healthcare providers with GeniusClinic rely solely on the information provided during your visit. When we prescribe you medicine, it’s always necessary to read the personalized treatment plan your licensed healthcare provider creates for you before taking the medication. Reading this information in its entirety will help you safely weigh the risks and benefits of the treatment.

How quickly will a doctor or licensed health care provider review my initial history?

Following your online visit, a licensed healthcare provider will complete the initial review of your medical history within 24 hours.

We never intend to keep you waiting any longer than expected, but in the event you have experienced an extended wait, we want to hear from you. Please contact us at telehelp@geniusrx.com and we will work to remedy the situation.

How much does a visit cost?

An online visit costs $20. The cost of the visit does not include the cost of a prescription (if prescribed). Don’t worry—we will reach out to you via email as soon as your provider has completed their review to help you finalize your visit and confirm the cost and purchase of your medication. We will never charge you without your approval.

Is GeniusClinic covered by insurance?

Services on the GeniusClinic are not covered by insurance, but you may find that our $20 online visit is equal to or less than most co-pays or out-of-pocket deductibles.

What are my payment options?

GeniusClinic accepts all major credit cards. Whenever you purchase a telehealth visit, we will show you how much it will cost you beforehand.

Do you accept Medicare?

Medicare patients are welcome to use GeniusClinic; however, your visit is not currently reimbursable.

Are there any medications that cannot be prescribed or filled?

Currently, we do not prescribe controlled substances. Medications available for prescription via GeniusClinic may be identified on the corresponding drug page after you have logged in, as seen here:

What if GeniusClinic can’t provide a diagnosis?

We do our best, but not every condition can be treated online. If your health concern cannot be addressed through GeniusClinic, our providers will share a clinical recommendation to help you identify the best next step. Please note you will be charged for the physician visit.

Can I get a prescription?

GeniusClinic providers are licensed and able to prescribe certain medications as part of your care plan, if clinically appropriate.

Will my doctor automatically know I’ve had a GeniusClinic visit?

Unfortunately, we are not currently set up to communicate data electronically to your provider. However, we provide you, the patient, with your visit summary so that you can share it with them. Simply download your records from our site and then you can send it to your provider through their patient portal or via email.

Why was I prescribed something different than what I purchased?

Your healthcare provider will provide you with a customized treatment plan following your online visit. If you have experience with a medication that has worked for you in the past, please share this in the online questionnaire. You can also consult with one of our pharmacists.

Can anyone get prescribed online?

To be eligible for an online visit, you must meet certain requirements. Depending on your healthcare provider's assessment, you may not be prescribed a medication. Currently we do not provide care to individuals under the age of 18.

Why are there two different charges?

Your telemedicine visit and medication are charged separately. The price of the prescribed medication depends on dosage and quantity prescribed. You will have the option to accept/approve the prescription before it is sent to the GeniusRx pharmacy for processing. You will only be charged once you have approved the prescription and the medication has shipped.

How do I change my delivery address?

You can update your address anytime from your account under Profile and Settings.

Where can I get my blood pressure measured for free?

Many pharmacies and grocery stores have blood pressure machines in-store. You can also buy a home blood pressure monitor at most drug stores.
