Loving Yourself Is A Beautiful Thing

Before we get started, a word to our readers: Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

No matter where you are on your fitness journey, we want to remind everyone that this email is not intended to encouraging readers to lose weight but rather, aid those who choose to lose weight. We can not stress the importance of being happy in the body you’re in, regardless of what the scale says.

Are You Looking To Get Back Your Pre-Lockdown Body?

There are endless health and fitness tips spreading across social media, mom groups, and online forums. Sometimes it can feel like information overload. All these tips and tricks can have you wondering what really works?

Tip #1: Clean out your fridge

Clean out your fridge, pantry, and home of all unhealthy, tempting foods to help you stay on track. Keep those trigger foods and snacks out of your home permanently to ensure you are sticking to clean, wholesome foods that will aid in weight loss and creating healthy habits.

Tip #2: Drink more water

Keeping you hydrated helps you flush out toxins and curbs your cravings. Purchase a nice reusable water bottle, and be sure to keep it with you all time to ensure you are increasing your water intake.

Tip #3: Focus on daily movement.

Make an extra effort to move more during the day by adding in regular walks or an after-work group workout. Little additional activity can add up to significant results as well, so be sure to take the stairs at the office or parking in the furthest spot from the door at the grocery store to sneak in some more movement.

Pro Tip: Working from home? Block a couple breaks during the day to do a series of exercises like 10 crunches, 15 jumping jacks, or even plank for 1 minute in between tasks and meetings. Little exercises overtime, big impacts!

Tip #4: Be mindful of liquid calories.

Just because you don’t chew it doesn’t mean it doesn’t count, so be sure to check the labels on juices, smoothies, coffee and soda beverages as those items can be high in both sugar and calories, which won’t aid you in your weight loss journey.

Tip #5: Find an accountability buddy.

Sharing your fitness journey with others can help motivate both parties to stay on track, create a fostering environment to share best practices, and lean on each other when times are tough. Lots of people are looking for accountability to help them stay on track; ask your friends, family, and co-workers, and you’ll have an accountability buddy in no time.

Pro Tip: Don’t have anyone close by to get your workout on with? Consider joining a Facebook group, using fitness hashtags on Twitter, and Slack groups to help share your journey, get tips and stay motivated.

Tip #6: Stay positive.

Weight loss is gradual and can take months, with peaks and valleys, so having a positive attitude can make all the difference and keep pushing when times are tough.

Tip #7: Digitalize your weight loss journey.
